Job Title - Information Services Librarian

Salary $80,445.28 - &88,144.17 per annum + super

Qualification- Completion of Degree or Post graduate level library and information studies, eligibility for full membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.

Location- Liverpool City Library

Key responsibilities

• ·        Develop, provide and promote a quality customer focused information service that provides value and meets community needs.
• ·         Manage the Library’s reference collection within allocated budget, including both print and e-resources.
• ·         Provide supervision and leadership to a team of staff, providing information services. Developing staff knowledge and training opportunities for library team.
• ·         Coordinate the development of staff training and awareness programs in the use of information services, including policies and procedures.
• ·         Undertake Customer Service desk work as required at any service location.
• ·         Manage and promote Information Service provided by Liverpool City Council for the South West Campus of the University of Wollongong.
• ·         Prepare and provide regular reporting on Information service, including statistics on performance and budgets.
• ·         Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety practises, The principles of Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical practise and multi-cultural diversity.
• ·         Knowledge of current trends and issues in library and information services, including an understanding of public library philosophies and issues.
• ·         Reference and research techniques, including high level online research to support tertiary study.
• ·         Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with ability to solve problems and making decisions.
• ·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ·         Working understanding of the information needs of diverse communities. Including differing education and literacy levels, cultural backgrounds and life stages.
